Hakone and Mount Fuji are two of the most popular tourist destinations in Japan. While they are attractively close together, they offer visitors very different experiences. Hakone is famous for its hot springs and views of Mount Fuji, while Mount Fuji is best known for its towering peak and religious significance. As a tourist, many places are packed with wonders to explore in Hakone.

The Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park also known as Hakone National Park is a stunning volcanic area located on the main island of Honshu in Japan. The park is known for its dramatic landscapes, including Mount Fuji, lakes, and hot springs. It is also home to a diverse array of plant and animal life, making it a popular destination for hikers and nature lovers.

The most famous mountain in the Hakone region – and indeed all of Japan – is Mount Fuji. Normally the peak of Mount Fuji is covered by clouds, so it is difficult to see. At 3,776 meters high, it is the highest mountain in Japan and offers breathtaking views from its summit. The mountain is also quite photogenic, lending itself to many postcards, calendars, and advertisements. You can see the best view of Mount Fuji in the winter season. When it is covered with snow, Mount Fuji is a sight to see. There are five wonderful lakes at the base of Mt. Fuji. In April – in the spring this area is covered with wonderful pink cherry blossoms. The beauty of that sight cannot describe. That is a sight to see.

Whether you’re interested in soaking in steaming hot water or conquering a summit, these two destinations have something to offer everyone.
